Nick Dando Communications is a well-established supplier and installer of both digital and analogue radio systems. The company services both private and public sector clients nationwide from its base in Castleford, West Yorkshire. Trading for over 30 years, the company has built up a formidable reputation for the high quality of products and services it offers. Nick Dando Communications approached Green Route Media in 2013 to design a catalogue style website for its products and services.
Project Requirements
With no active website available to its customers, Nick Dando Communications required a brand new website that detailed the full range of products and services the company provides. Employees required the ability to add new products as they become available and requested that the website be easily converted to feature ecommerce functionality at a later date, without incurring the cost of a full website redesign.
The Solution
Keeping in mind our clients plans to start selling products online at some point in the future, our solution was to design and build a brochure website based on the ecommerce platform OpenCart. We delivered a clean and minimalistic catalogue style website that detailed the various radio's, accessories and services the company provides. We then customised the OpenCart platform by removing its ecommerce functionality from the front-end of the website, allowing us to add this back in at a later date when the company would be ready to begin selling online.
