St Giles’ Centre is part of a major renovation project at St Giles’ Parish Church, Pontefract and is ideally situated in the centre of town. The centre features a range of attractive and inviting rooms that can be hired out by private groups or for public events. The centre's aim is to make a real contribution to local community needs and to assist in the regeneration of the town by attracting more visitors and supporting local heritage education.
Project Requirements
Father Bob first contacted Green Route Media in 2015 to discuss the possibility of redesigning the St Giles' Centre website. The new website needed to feature individual pages for each of the rooms the centre has to offer. The website also required a room calendar so that potential clients could check room availability before enquiring and the public could see what events were being held. In addition, the website needed to be easily editable so information could be kept up to date. As part of the project, a new website based around a similar theme was to be created for St Giles' Parish Church, featuring information solely on the church itself.
The Solution
Our solution involved developing a WordPress website built around the needs of the Centre. We customised WordPress to include a dedicated area where information could be added on the different rooms available for hire. These sections would feature colour co-ordinated floor plans and basic information on room dimensions and seating capacity. Galleries were also created in order to show potential clients the different rooms from various angles. We incorporated a calendar system and customised the style of this to fit in with the overall look and feel of the new website.
